Fellowship for Indigenous Leadership
The Fellowship for Indigenous Leadership provides support and assistance to selected Fellows to enable them to concentrate their efforts on personal and professional development, to undertake projects to improve the social and economic well being of Indigenous Victorians and to pursue their vision for a better future for Indigenous communities.
The possibilities for each Fellowship are as endless as each individual's vision. The Fellow has the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Fellowship, to come up with a flexible and innovative plan for their term. Some ways the Fellowship could be put to use are:
- Professional and personal development -
training, study, attending conferences, travel
- Projects - funding for and assistance with management of innovative projects to improve the emotional, social and economic well being of Indigenous Victorians
- Support - administrative assistance, office equipment, vehicle allowance
The Fellowship provides financial support to the Fellow in the amount of up to $70,000 per year, for a period of up to 5 years.
Helping Emerging Leaders
An important part of each Fellowship is the transfer of knowledge and skills to emerging leaders. Appointed Fellows will help identify and then work closely with a series of young people as mentor and guide. Each emerging leader will work with the Fellow for a minimum of 12 months.
