Ngarra Murray

Biography
Ngarra Murray is a Wamba Wamba Yorta Yorta woman from the North East and West of Victoria. She is the mother of two young children and the second oldest of 12 siblings.
She currently works at the Centre for Excellence in Indigenous Tobacco Control and Onemda VicHealth Koori Health Unit at The University of Melbourne. Prior to working at The University of Melbourne she was a Project Manager with the City of Melbourne, Museum Victoria and most recently with the Pastor Sir Douglas and Lady Gladys Nicholls Memorial project.
Ngarra believes indigenous and non indigenous people can walk together sharing culture and knowledge and that leadership is about encouraging community to achieve.
With a non indigenous mother, an indigenous father, 11 siblings and two children of her own Ngarra sees a responsibility to capture the stories and experiences of past indigenous leaders and elders and pass on culture and history to younger people.
