Nathan Lovett-Murray has a demonstrated high level of commitment to improving the lives of people within Victoria's Indigenous communities. He has achieved a great deal over twelve years in both the Indigenous and broader community. |

Nathan has demonstrated practical action and sustainable results, along with sharing gained skills and experience with others reinforcing good leadership to progress individual and collective leadership in the Victorian Aboriginal community.
Nathan was born in Heywood on his Mother's Country Gournditchmara and through his Father he is also a multi-clanned descendant of the Wamba Wamba, Dhudhuroa, Baraparapa, Dja Dja Wurrung, Yupagalk, Wergaia and Yorta Yorta Clans in Victoria and Wiradjeri in New South Wales.
He has extended and extensive Clan networks specifically the Lovett, Rose, Winter, Murray, Nicholls, Stewart and Atkinson Clans. Nathan has a strong cultural and contemporary link with south west, north west, north east regional Victoria as well as a strong identity with the Greater City of Melbourne.
He is elite professional AFL sportsman of five years standing with strong business links to the community based Indigenous Sports Management, Payback Records and Bunjil's Business.
Nathan has been greatly influenced by his great grandfather Pastor Sir Douglas Nicholls JP; MBE; OAM; KCVO, Bapa Mamus (1906-1988) and his grandfather Stewart Murray JP; OAM (1922-1989) and parents who have all been actively involved in the Victorian and national cultural and political movements over many generations.
Today, football, music and protecting Indigenous People's human rights are the driving forces in his life and the building blocks to his continued leadership and professional development in sport, music, culture, human rights and politics.
